Directed by Chris Smith and featuring Mark Borchardt, American Movie won the Grand Jury Prize for documentary at the 1999 Sundance Film Festival.

Directed and co-written (with Owen Wilson) by Wes Anderson and starring Jason Schwartzman, Bill Murray, Olivia Williams and Mason Gamble, Rushmore premiered at the 1998 Toronto International Film Festival before going into wide release in February 1999.
